Corporate Foundation “SOS Children’s Villages Kazakhstan”

SOS Children’s Villages Kazakhstan is a charitable organization that has been operating in the country for more than 30 years and is a member of the international federation SOS Children’s Villages International. The organization implements a unique system of family-based care programmes for children who have lost parental care, as well as projects aimed at preventing social orphanhood by strengthening vulnerable families.
Throughout its history, more than 600 programme graduates have successfully transitioned to independent living, while family-strengthening projects have enabled more than 2,500 children to remain with their biological families.
Today, 216 children and young people are under our care in three SOS Children’s Villages located in Almaty, Astana, and Temirtau. Our social orphanhood prevention programmes support more than 250 families across the country, including over 740 children and 350 adults.
SOS Children’s Villages Kazakhstan is also developing a strategic partnership with the government. Since 2020, within the framework of the Coordination Council for family-type children’s villages, more than 700 specialists from over 20 residential care institutions have received methodological and practical support.
In 2025, a memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Committee for the Protection of Children’s Rights of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The memorandum is aimed at improving the professional competencies of specialists working in educational organizations for orphans and children deprived of parental care.
