The Miras International School in Almaty was opened on September 6, 1999.

The School was authorized for all the three International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes: the Primary Years Programme (РYР), Middle Years Programme (МYР) and Diploma Programme (DP). In 2002 the Almaty Miras School was authorized by the University of Cambridge as an IGCSE exam center (the UK standard) for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education. The School has been accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) since 2005.

The Almaty Miras School implements the educational programs developed independently by this School for preschool, primary, basic secondary and general secondary education subject to the requirements of the state general education standard of the Republic of Kazakhstan and international educational programs. The integrated educational programs were registered with the Committee for Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The School teaching staff is represented by both overseas educators and highly qualified national teachers, many of whom are IB international examiners, moderators, trainers, members of international accreditation and authorization committees.

The School graduates are successfully studying in higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, China, USA, Canada, Singapore, Japan, Spain, Italy, etc.
