Educational Foundation - Bridge to the Future!

Director’s Address

Dear Friends, Dear Colleagues,

The Nursultan Nazarbayev Educational Foundation was established in 1998 at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Over 20 years we have achieved significant results that we can be rightfully proud of.

A primary goal of the Foundation is integration into the international educational space while retaining unique Kazakhstani educational models. We set ambitious objectives before ourselves – to promote full development of the human personality, ensure high-quality education, and contribute to improving the national educational system.

Our Foundation truly respects the best domestic and international academic traditions. "Miras" means "Heritage" in translation from Kazakh; therefore, we put a special emphasis on fostering caring attitude toward age-old customs and traditions of the Kazakh nation and peoples throughout the world.

We launched new schools and kindergartens in Astana, Almaty and Atyrau. Our schools gained international recognition: they were accredited by the Council of International Schools and authorized by the International Baccalaureate programmes. Among the distinctive features of our projects is a balance between the national and international components in their concept, structure, content, organization and management of the educational process.

The two core tasks we are seeking to address are as follows:

- we teach children to study, we cultivate love for learning in them;

- we help our students find themselves and define a path in life.

A joyful and creative atmosphere prevails in the Foundation schools, and all students feel happy to attend their classes. The teaching staff working in our schools includes talented Kazakhstani and overseas teachers who develop in students a habit of thinking and acting independently, show the beauty of the world to children, teach them to live from the standpoint of mercy and truth.

I would like to sincerely thank our teachers, students and their parents, our partners, associates and true friends of the Foundation, and wish all of them further effective cooperation in ensuring one of the fundamental human rights – the right to quality education.
