The Miras International School, Almaty was opened on September 6, 1999 for the purpose of creating an innovative educational model that integrates the national and international educational experience.
The School was PYP (Primary Years Programme), МУР (Middle Years Progamme) and DP (Diploma Programme) authorized by the International Baccalaureate (IB). In 2002 the Miras School, Almaty was accredited by the University of Cambridge as an International Examination Center for IGCSE exams (the British standard) to obtain an International General Certificate of Secondary Education. Since 2005 the School has been accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASС).
The independently developed educational programmes of preschool, primary, middle school and general secondary education have been implemented at the Miras School in Almaty. They take into consideration the requirements of the RoK state general educational standard and international educational programs. Integrated educational programmes have been copyrighted at the Committee on Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The multilingual and international educational environment contributes to the formation of a personality with international mindedness, fosters the respect to diversity of cultures and traditions.
The School teaching staff is represented by both overseas and top-qualified Kazakhstani teachers, many of whom are international examiners, moderators, instructors of IB, members of international accreditation and authorization committees.
Students of the School receive comprehensive education that develops social, intellectual, physical and moral abilities, helping prepare them for living in the rapidly changing world.
Graduates of the Miras School, Almaty (71 of them completed the Diploma Programme) are currently studying at or have graduated from leading universities throughout the world and in Kazakhstan.
